BAIC and its Korean partner BMK showcased three pure electric vehicles, namely EU5, EX5 and EX3, at EV KOREA in Seoul on May 2, 2019. 

The three products represent the highest level of China's electric automobiles in terms of superior electric system, comprehensive safety configuration, intelligent driving assistance and deep human-computer interaction. EU5 is a midsize sedan equipped with e-Motion Drive 3.0, the newest smart electronic control system, with a comprehensive endurance mileage of 460 km. EX5, a midsize SUV, boasts smaller size, lighter weight, safer and more reasonable layout, with a comprehensive endurance mileage of 415 km. The EX3 that newly released at the Auto Shanghai 2019 in April also appeared in this exhibition. The small SUV has a comprehensive endurance mileage of 501 kilometers, the first one of the same class over 500 kilometers.

Li Jingang, general manager of BAIC International, attended the exhibition on behalf of BAIC Group and introduced the strategic planning of BAIC internationalization. According to Li, as the seventh largest producer and the sixth largest exporter of automobiles, South Korea is a place that global auto companies yearn for and has a huge potential for future development. To seek opportunities of joint ventures and cooperation in South Korea is one of the important demands of BAIC to promote international development at this stage. Meanwhile, South Korea has a strategic resonation in the development of the electric automobile industry and the strategic orientation of BAIC's “comprehensive new energy + intelligent network linkage”, which lay a favorable foundation for BAIC to expand its circle of friend in South Korea. BAIC is willing to work with its Korean partners to grasp the context of the times, promote cross-border cooperation, explore a new model of innovation and win-win cooperation, continuously expand the research and development strength and technical strength of both parties in the field of automobile manufacturing, as well as create superior conditions for the cooperation and win-win situation of both parties.

According to Bu Hongsheng, general manager assistant of BAIC BJEV, after more than nine years of development, BAIC BJEV has established a pure electric vehicle product portfolio for various market needs. Products cover sedan, Cross and SUV, endurance mileage from 300 km to 600 km, fully meet the different needs of private customers, online taxi-hailing service, time-sharing car rental and taxi companies. The ARCFOX high-end brand products have been unveiled in Geneva Auto Show and Auto Shanghai in 2019, which are expected to be officially launched next year. The perfect product layout and continuous upgrade have established confidence in BAIC development in the Korean market.

The EV KOREA is an electric automobile exhibition hosted by the Seoul Government and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. It has been successfully held in Korea for seven times, which is a trade show covering energy industry, automotive industry and EV market.

According to the data, by the end of this year, South Korea will increase the current 58,000 environmentally friendly vehicles (electric + hydrogen fuel) to 105,000, and by the end of 2022 and 2030 it will reach 497,000 and 3.85 million respectively. The Korean government will increase demand and supply by studying subsidy policies and obligatory sales systems. Taking electric vehicles as an example, it is planned to popularize 100,000 vehicles by the end of this year, and 430,000 by 2022, and 3 million by 2030.
