BAIC Group established BAIC BJEV in 2009, focusing on the research and development of pure electric passenger vehicles. BAIC Foton started the research and development of hydrogen fuel cell buses in 2006, and is one of the earliest domestic companies that started the R&D and industrialization of fuel cell vehicles and realized the commercial operation of fuel cell buses.
